"Introducing the Kosher Kiwi Licensing Authority for New Zealand"
There is a growing interest in Kosher New Zealand products for local
consumption and for export.
The Kosher Kiwi is the mark of the Kashrut wing of the Auckland Hebrew
Congregation, New Zealand's largest Orthodox community.
Kosher licensing is under the auspices of Kosher licensing is under the auspices of Auckland Hebrew Congregation.
All Sheilot (questions on Jewish Law) are refered to either New South Wales
Kashrut or Melbourne Kashrut with whom we work in close conjunction.
Licensing of production operates on a number of levels.
After the initial inspection and investigation of which standards need to be
met (some importers need to meet the needs of specific sectors of their
local communities), we work with you to draw up a protocol for production.
This will delineate the koshering process for your plant,
The ingredients base which is acceptable,
The measure of supervision required
Certification on an ongoing or batch by batch basis
Additionally, we are happy to work with you to cater kosher events at many
venues locally. We have caterers in the community who can work with large
groups passing through New Zealand.
For the individual traveller, we have a shop at the Jewish Community Centre
- 108 Greys Avenue, Auckland and a wide range of readily accessible kosher
foods are listed in the Kosher Kiwi Directory (online) or available through
the Synagogue Office.
